GAINESVILLE, FL, January 5, 2009- Digital Broadcast announced that KTKA-TV, Topeka, KS recently installed Digital Broadcast MediaFire Automated Master Control System with the ability to air HD as well as SD content. The MediaFire system includes automation control of the station’s router, switcher and satellite system.
“KTKA needed to expand their operations and Digital Broadcast provided an economical and effective automation solution and they are fully integrated with our servers.” said Chief Engineer Tom Petty. Digital Broadcast’s direct interface with Pathfire, DG FastChannel and Vyvx media delivery services saves the station a considerable amount of labor and time by eliminating tedious processing of syndicated programming.
With Digital Broadcast’s Pathfire interface, HD and/or SD programming received via satellite into the Pathfire server is automatically transferred to the MediaFire Playout server, ready to air. No format conversion or program timing is required. Syndication can be specified to be prepared with no barter, single barter or double barter. Once these rules are set in the Asset Management software, this syndicated program will be prepared in the same manner until told differently.
